HUNDREDS of residents in Highgate and Crouch End have been left without electricity since 4pm.

Engineers for EDF Energy are currently working to fix a fault on a high voltage underground cable that has left 300 homes without power in Hornsey Lane, Crouch End Hill, Colwick Close and Hannay Lane.

A spokeswoman for EDF said: "We appreciate how frustrating it can be without power and apologise to customers for the inconvenience.

The power cut has affected council, private and commercial properties and EDF are offering priority support and advice for customers who have medical needs - for information call EDF on 0800 028 0247.
