House fire in Maida Hill

Two people were treated for mild smoke inhalation after a house caught fire in Maida Hill last night.

Seventeen people escaped the house, in Grittleton Road, off Elgin Avenue, before firefighters arrived shortly after 9.17pm.

The fire - which was under control by 10.07pm - damaged a small part of the ground floor of the property.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
