COMPUTER disks that went missing from the Whittington Hospital in July have been found.
Last week it emerged that four disks containing the personal details of almost 18,000 NHS staff members had disappeared, prompting fears the data could be used to commit large-scale identity fraud.
But after a frantic search and the appointment of an inquiry panel, all four were found in the finance department at the Highgate hospital.
"Following the detailed scrutiny of the inquiry panel, we are clear the disks have now been accounted for and that there is no risk to staff," said hospital boss David Sloman. "I apologise for the worry caused to both present and ex-staff.
