A SUPERMARKET, 230 new homes and parking could be built on the derelict Hornsey depot site by the end of 2014.

At a Haringey Council cabinet meeting last night, councillors gave the go-ahead for officers to dispose of the land, between Hornsey High Street and Myddelton Road, 18 months after the original deal to complete the development fell apart.

Cabinet members agreed to enter into a special deal with Sainsbury's - who own an adjacent site - to pool the land together and offer it to developers as one entity.
