Hollywood actor Danny Glover was the star attraction at a fundraiser for Haiti in Kentish Town last Saturday evening (April 29).
The event, which was organised by Global Women’s Strike and Women of Colour, highlighted issues the Caribbean island of Haiti is facing.
The Lethal Weapon star was joined by author and activist Selma James, Haitian teacher Rea Dol and radio presenter and activist Margaret Prescod.
Juveline Franchis of Lyncroft Gardens, West Hampstead who attended the fundraiser said: “It was an excellent event and really interesting. Both Selma James and Rea Dol gave powerful presentations, As Danny is an actor, I did not think what he said would be meaningful, but it actually was. He was a charismatic speaker.”
