A collection of historic wedding dresses, invitations, photographs and objects exploring the development of the Jewish community in Britain has opened to the public.
The exhibition, titled For Richer For Poorer: Weddings Unveiled, went on show at the Jewish Museum, in Albert Street, Camden Town, on February 13, the day before Valentine’s Day.
It tells the story of Britain’s Jewish community from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century through the weddings of Jewish couples over the years.
Abigail Morris, chief executive of the Jewish Museum, said: “We are delighted to unveil this inspirational, romantic exhibition and we are excited to use so much from our collection that has remained hidden until now.”
The exhibition, curated by Elizabeth Selby, is on show until May 31.
