A SCHOOLGIRL from Highgate is celebrating her summer success after beating more than 36,000 of her peers to score one of the highest marks in GCSE art and design.
Sixteen-year-old Rosamund Wright is one of eight pupils of Francis Holland School who ranked in the top 10 in the country in the subject.
Miss Wright achieved a total of 10 GCSEs - including 4A*s - and said she was delighted with her success. "It was very exciting for eight of us to come in the top 10, out of over 36,000 in the country," she said.
She is currently studying art, psychology, history and geography in the sixth form at the school in Baker Street and hopes to go on to study fine art at university.
Headteacher Vivienne Durham said she was delighted with the girls' achievements: "Their success reflects the hard work of our outstanding art department. It shows that girls here have the opportunity to excel in all areas of the curriculum.
