Two teams of students at a Highgate school have been knocked out of a national robotics championships after reaching the semi-finals.
Pupils from Highgate School in North Road built their own robots to fight against other schools at the regional and national stages of the Vex Robotics Competition.
At the regional finals last month the school’s two teams, Error 404 and System 32, sailed through to the nationals at the Big Bang Fair in Birmingham.
Despite failing to qualify for the international finals, the teams did not come away empty-handed .
Their design technology teachers Andy Thomson and Jon Taylor both received the Teacher of the Year Award for putting robotics on the school’s curriculum.
