Highgate’s newest vet has created an amusing window display to mark the Olympic Games.

Allan Rapley, who moved to the village in March, is in the process of transforming Fisher & Sperr, in High Street, into a new veterinary practice.

While the renovation work is being carried out, the father-of-five is brightening up the window display by giving it a theme.

The latest one pays tribute to the Olympics and features Action Men taking part in different sports.

There is even a model of the Queen parachuting into the window, in homage to the James Bond sequence at the opening ceremony.

“It’s all just a bit of fun,” Mr Rapley, 61, told Heathman. “My wife bought some Action Men off eBay and we put them into different sporting poses. We did want to buy some Barbie dolls and put them in a fish tank to create a synchronised swimming team.”

This is not the first time the window has been transformed.

It has also celebrated Highgate’s Fair In The Square festival earlier this year and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

“My wife likes to be creative and have a bit of fun,” said Allan, originally from New Zealand. “We hope it has brought smiles to people’s faces.”
