A flurry of red balloons filled the sky above a primary school at a celebration to mark its 100th anniversary.
At a party to mark its centenary, pupils from Brookfield School, Chester Road, Highgate, released one balloon for each year the school has been opened.
Schoolchildren had also baked and designed 15 spectacular birthday cakes that spelled out: “Brookfield is 100”. Guests included former pupils who went to the school in the 1940s and ’50s and outgoing Mayor of Camden, Cllr Jonathan Simpson, who gave commemorative coins to the oldest and youngest pupils.
Headteacher Mark Stubbings said: “What has been brilliant is that we’ve had so much support from our school community.”
