A campervan was driven into the middle of a Highgate primary school’s playground to be transformed into a colourful reading den for the week.
The red VW “book bus” was filled to the brim with classic picture books for children of all ages at St Michael’s Primary School in North Road to enjoy from Monday until Friday (October 10) last week.
English teacher Rebecca Austin came up with the idea to give pupils dedicated time to read and to get them sharing stories with each other.
She said: “We wanted to capture the children’s imagination to get them out of the classroom and in a place where they could indulge in some of their favourite stories.”
