Residents and families enjoyed a food spectacular on Bank Holiday Monday as Highgate’s Lauderdale House hosted its first market and food fair.
The Grade II-listed building and its grounds were transformed into a bustling market offering artisan food and drink, with independent vendors also selling art and craft items.
Children enjoyed a special one-hour art workshop complete with face painting and collage making, while adults could sample Highgate-made gin and cakes.
Overjoyed with the response, organisers say it could become a seasonal event in the calendar.
Katherine Ives, director of Lauderdale House, said: “The stalls were selling items you wouldn’t usually find in the high street shops and it’s great to be able to offer something like this to the community.”
