A MILLIONAIRE racehorse owner from Highgate and his son have been found guilty of a gruesome murder in which they cut off their victim's head and hands.

Norman Jones, 50, of Dukes Head Yard and his son Joseph, 24, of Crescent Road, New Barnet, abducted landscaper and scrap metal dealer John Finney from outside his home on February 29, 2008 because they believed he had stolen drugs belonging to them.

After kidnapping Mr Finney the killers drove the terrified traveller nearly 30 miles in a van to a business unit where he was tortured and killed.

The jury found Joseph Jones' friend Mark Curran, 28, of Dollis Valley Way, Barnet not guilty of murder and he was freed by Mr Justice MacDuff.

They are still considering their verdict in the case of the fourth defendant Gary Lattimore, 40, formerly of Littleheath Road, Bexleyheath who also denies murder.

The father and son are due to be sentenced tomorrow (May 12).
