The parents of a disabled boy have raised almost £1,000 for a learning disability charity with a 100km night-time cycle ride across London.
Highgate estate agent Miles Ponder and his wife, Clare, cycled from Alexandra Palace, through Highgate and Hampstead, to Crystal Palace overnight to raise money for the Watford branch of Mencap, where their eight-year-old son, Sean, attends group activities twice a week.
Miles, 31, associate director of Taylor Gibbs estate agents, in Highgate High Street, said: “Travelling through central London was chaos in the early hours of the morning, but it was a really good experience.”
The couple, who live in Bushey, Hertfordshire, took just over five hours to reach the finishing line but the gruelling ride was worth it as they have so far raised £890.
