A meeting organised in Haringey is told that the Labour Party will repeal the 1981 Immigration Act, which establishes three main categories of citizenship, when it comes to power. Jo Richardson MP said all immigration controls should be banned. "As long as there is anything to stop anybody from moving freely the strength of the working class will be destroyed," she said.

Journalists who worked on the Camden Journal, which closed in 1980, have formed a co-operative to launch a new local newspaper, based in council premises in Camden Road, Camden Town.

Elegant St John's, Downshire Hill, which Keats saw being built in 1919, is in urgent need of £75,000 to pay for repairs to what is the sole remaining proprietary chapel in London.
