At a Hampstead Borough Council meeting, an item in the accounts of 30s for whisky for horses is queried, about a gallon and a half. Twelve horses suffering from pneumonia received the whisky, on orders of the veterinary surgeon.

A commodious parish hall has been given to the parish of St Martin's, Gospel Oak, by the generosity of Mrs Wharrie, daughter of Sir Henry Harben, first mayor of the Borough of Hampstead.

The Hampstead Parliament debating society debate the motion "that the time has now arrived when the House of Lords should be reformed by the exclusion of the bishops and the abolition of the hereditary principle".

A 21-year-old flower seller, charged with acting as a pedlar without a licence, pleads that he had been unable to renew his certificate. The Highgate Bench offers 2s 6d towards the 5s required and prisoner is discharged.
