Hampstead Workhouse are to send an able-bodied man to the Lingfield Farm Colony in Surrey where he will be taught how to work on a farm. Some previous experiments in this direction have proved very successful.

A female inmate at the workhouse is put on bread and water for two meals for refusing to work. It has a beneficial effect. She returns to her work after one day.

The Highgate Hill Tramway Company is summoned by Islington Council for not maintaining and keeping in good condition the road between the tramlines and the kerb.
