Hampstead branch of the Middle Classes Defence Organisation send a memorial to Hampstead council protesting against the annual increase of salary and wages of those in the council's employ.

Having reviewed the circumstances of the suicide of a woman in the Leg of Mutton Pond, West Heath, LCC parks committee says that no blame can be attached to any officer of the council. Cases of suicide in the Hampstead and Highgate ponds are lamentably frequent and the committee is considering what further precautions may be taken for the protection of life at these places.

Mr Joseph Peters, one of the oldest residents in St John's Wood and well known for his generosity in support of religious and charitable work, dies at his home in Hamilton Terrace, aged 87. He attended so many functions that he was known as the "lay archbishop of Kilburn".
