A SUSPECTED car thief was picked up in Muswell Hill after a police helicopter spotted him running through a golf course.
Police were called at 2am on Tuesday morning last week after a vehicle was taken without the owner's consent in Willoughby Lane in Tottenham.
The car made off towards Palmers Green and Enfield police spotted the vehicle being driven at speed in Green Lanes.
Following a pursuit, the vehicle was found abandoned in Rhodes Avenue, Muswell Hill and an air support unit was launched.
The police helicopter spotted a man running across Muswell Hill golf club and informed officers, who were able to detain a man in Grosvenor Road.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and bailed until May 11.
