A Whittington Hospital nurse has been recognised at the Young Epilepsy Champions Awards.

Tessa Walker, children’s epilepsy nurse specialist at the hospital in Archway, picked up the best practice award on March 26.

She was described at the ceremony at London’s City Hall as someone who “always goes the extra mile for the children and families she supports”.

She was recognised for her work helping those with epilepsy to manage their own condition and learn from others with the same condition. She described her win as “a real honour”.
