THE 22-year-old man from Barnet who has suspected swine flu is being tested in the Royal Free hospital in Hampstead, it was confirmed this afternoon.
The patient is believed to have contracted the virus during a visit to Mexico.
A Royal Free spokesperson said: "The patient is currently well and is responding to treatment, which includes anti-viral drugs.
"He is in a single isolation room and staff are scrupulously following infection control procedures to ensure no other patient or member of staff is at risk.

"The Health Protection Agency is carrying out tests on the patient's friends and family to determine whether they have picked up the infection. He was previously being treated at home and was brought to the hospital by ambulance.
