A mental health nurse who faced a disciplinary hearing over showering a patient in their pyjamas has been cleared after charges were dismissed.

Linda Makombore went before the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) last week over an alleged incident at the Highgate Mental Health Centre, in Dartmouth Park Hill, Highgate, which dates back to February 2011.

Ms Makombore was accused of showering a patient “inappropriately in that he was still wearing his pyjamas”.

But the NMC decided not to offer any evidence at the hearing, saying there was no prospect of the facts being proved, and ruling that Ms Makombore had no case to answer.

In its written judgement, the body noted that Ms Makombore had a previously “unblemished record” in more than 11 years as a mental health nurse, and that no concerns had been raised since the alleged incident.
