In response to the outpouring of questions and concerns over the plans to sell almost half of the Whittington Hospital, bosses have confirmed that a series of discussions with the local community will be held.
Whittington Health, the organisation that runs the hospital in Magdala Avenue, Highgate, announced the consultation yesterday (Wednesday).
The first meeting will take place in the N19 restaurant at the hospital at 6.30pm on Monday (February 25).
The board will explain the aim of its Estates Strategy to sell of hospital land, close three wards, lose 100 beds and 300 jobs, and cap births at 4,000 a year, including the likely costs and how the money well be reinvested.
Whittington Health chairman, Joe Liddane, said: “By involving local people, patients and their families, we will ensure that the best interests of the community we serve are at the heart of the improvements we are making.”
There will be three more meetings throughout the course of March and April.
