Projects Abroad have seen a 35% increase in the numbers of young people that are taking their parents away with them on gap years. Rather than a gap year being a bastion of independence, this year one in four gappers have taken a parent or both of their parents abroad with them to the likes of Ghana, Peru, China and Brazil.
