ON THE DISPLAY AGAINST NEWCASTLE: "It's another three points, another clean sheet and another good performance.
"We passed the ball well at times in the first half. We had some terrific passing movements including the goal, which was a counter-attack from our keeper.
"We broke and moved the ball quickly. They were never going to lay down and changed their system."
ON THE SOLID DEFENCE: "The defensive record here has been incredible. At times you win 1-0 and that's what good teams do - no game is easy and you are not always going to score three or four goals."
ON LOSING MICHAEL DAWSON TO INJURY: "Losing Michael was a big blow because he looked a tower of strength. We had to reshuffle and they then pushed forwards on with the likes of Viduka, Martins and Owen."
ON QUALIFYING FOR EUROPE: "Now, we are so close, I would like to get into Europe again because it would be such a good achievement. When I came here our only concern was to stay up. The chairman was having sleepless nights worrying that we would get relegated."
