Susie and Jaime celebrate Red Nose Day with the Zumba team

Hampstead fundraising team Uptown Funkies are holding a number of dance-themed events to raise money for Comic Relief Red Nose Day.

Their 90-minute Zumba class last Sunday (pictured) raised £228. The Latin-American inspired dance fitness class was led by Peruvian dance teacher Jaime Nabeta.

Susie Freeman, an Uptown Funkie, said: “It was non-stop energy for 90 minutes. Everybody had so much fun, it was amazing that 40 people turned up at 9am on a Sunday.”

The team have already raised £2728 towards their £3000 target and will be holding another 90-minute fundraising Zumba class next Thursday. The Funkies will also participate in a six hour Danceathon-and-on in the Wembley Arena on 8th March.
