It may have only been three months since Hampstead Heath’s former superintendant stepped down but Simon Lee has carried out one last duty as he returned to lead a charity walk.
Mr Lee guided ramblers across the Heath to raise money for wildlife charity Animals Asia, which campaigns against the practice of bear farming in China and Vietnam.
He was joined by actor Peter Egan, who is currently starring in Other Desert Cities at The Old Vic theatre in Southwark.
The Walk for Freedom, which took place on Saturday, has so far raised more than £1,000 for Animals Asia.
“It was a beautiful day and Simon Lee is such a great guy for doing it,” said 67-year-old Mr Egan, of Hampstead.
