Hampstead Garden Suburb: Woman, 96, named after car crash death

A 96-year-old woman who was killed by a car while walking in Hampstead Garden Suburb has been named.
Daphne Edwards, of Barnet, died on Saturday, February 25 after suffering “multiple injuries” in Lyttleton Road.
She was taken to the Royal London Hospital by helicopter after it landed on Lyttleton Playing Fields, but died about two hours later.
Police are now appealing for information about the incident, which occurred at about 10.54am.
A post-mortem found her cause of death was “multiple injuries”.
The driver stopped at the scene and helped officers with their enquiries. There have been no arrests.
The Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating, and asks that anyone with information call 020 8991 9555 or 101.
