Two of Hampstead Garden Suburb’s greenest groups got together for an evening to promote homegrown plants and food.
Hampstead Garden Suburb Horticultural Society and Garden Suburb Allotments hosted a special Seed Swap last Thursday, asking people to bring their flower and vegetable seeds to swap.
There was also a panel of seasoned growers in attendance at the event in Free Church Small Hall, in Northway, the Suburb, who were on hand to answer questions and solve veg and flower growing problems.
Horticultural Society press officer Marjorie Harris said: “It was really, really good. It was the first time we’d done a joint exercise with the allotment group.
“It went extremely well, we had about 50 people there and lots of seeds were swapped. People bought seeds they had collected since last autumn.”
