I am delighted to announce that the results for London in Bloom 2018 are in. We’ve had another great year, despite stiff competition across London.

The team has achieved gold for Golders Hill Park in the “over 25 acres parks” category and also for Hill Garden and Pergola in the “walled garden” category.

Keats House entered its garden for the first time this year and achieved a silver gilt – a fantastic result.

The London in Bloom Awards celebrate and recognise the passion Londoners have for greening our capital city.

They aim to make Greater London a less polluted and more pleasant place to live and visit.

They showcase the exceptional work our staff, volunteers and friends’ groups carry out all year round.

If you want to know more about caring for the Heath or find out about volunteering opportunities, please visit cityoflondon.gov.uk/hampsteadheath.

• While the Heath may no longer be in bloom as we meander into the autumn season, the site is inundated with colour and is delightful for a relaxing walk, perfecting your photography skills or participating in outdoor activities.

If you would like to learn more about the historical landscape of the Heath, why not join us on November 10 at 2pm for a staff-led walk around the Heath? Places can be booked at hampsteadheath.eventbrite.com.

For our largest event of the year, the Heath welcomes London Youth Games and the South of England Cross Country on November 17.

Runners from more than 30 boroughs took part in 2017 and it’s hoped this year’s spectacular event will see runners from all 32 boroughs and the City of London taking part.

This incredible event is a real platform for youth running and is where Olympic champion Mo Farah cut his teeth.

Spectators are welcome with open arms to cheer on the athletes.

What could be better than watching a potential future Olympic champion compete at the home of cross-country running?

Races start at Parliament Hill from 10.50am. The London cross-country championships for men and women start at 1.15pm, after the Youth Games.
