Arsenal's title hopes took a battering with two Christmas defeats in three days.
Brian Clough guided Nottingham Forest to their first three points at Highbury since 1964/65 with a 2-0 Boxing Day win.
Kenny Sansom missed a penalty for the hosts and afterwards George Graham moaned: "Territorially, we dominated them, but we didn't finish them off."
It got worse two days later when Wimbledon ran out 3-1 winners at Plough Lane, despite Niall Quinn giving the Gunners a half time lead.
'They did a good blitz job," said Graham. "We get criticism at Arsenal for our forward play but it was our defence that let us down today. It was poor."
To add to the gloom, Graham fails in a last-ditch bid to sign QPR's Terry Fenwick, who chose Spurs instead.
