Holders Arsenal return from a mini-break in Marbella to beat Everton 1-0 away in the first leg of their Littlewoods Cup semi-final. Perry Groves scored the only goal in the first half at Goodison Park.
Meanwhile, 19 Arsenal fans are arrested in a series of dawn raids across north London and the Home Counties following trouble at the FA Cup tie with Millwall at Highbury last month. Rifles, flick knives, a crossbow and coshes were recovered during the raids.
