An architect from one of the world’s leading design firms is among the Green candidates hoping to be elected in Highgate.
Matt Johnston, who works for world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid at her company’s Clerkenwell-based HQ, is standing for the first time on May 22.
His candidacy is being seen as a major boost to the party’s plans for housing policy, which include proposals for “innovative” co-housing developments.
Zaha Hadid Architects, owned by Ms Hadid, an Iraqi-British architect, has designed a number of high-profile buildings around the world, including the London Aquatics Centre for the 2012 Olympic Games and the Serpentine Sackler Gallery.
