Weekday services have resumed on the Gospel Oak to Barking line after 12 weeks of closure.

The closure has been part of Network Rail’s electrification project of the line. Over half of the new electrical wire needed on the line has now been installed.

However further closures have been announced on the line to complete the project, between Saturday November 18 and Sunday January 14.

The overhaul will enable double-length electric trains to run on the line from spring next year.

Ahead of the next closure, more public information events will be held at six stations.

Staff from Network Rail, TfL and Arriva Rail London will be available to answer questions from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, on Tuesday October 31 at Gospel Oak and Crouch Hill, Wednesday November 1 and Blackhorse Road and Walthamstow Queen’s Road, and finally on Thursday 2 November at Leytonstone High Road and Barking.
