A woman with multiple sclerosis (MS) is embarking on a exciting but daunting climb up Mount Etna.

Toni Krok, from Golders Green, begins her three day journey today in Sicily alongside a number of her friends and her husband, to help launch her new charity, MS Positive.

Mrs Krok was diagnosed with MS, a neurological condition, around 11 years ago. She says that her left side often causes her struggle; however she is determined not to let her condition stop herself from reaching her potential.

The mum, who was born in Johannesburg, is no stranger to climbing heights having done scaled a mountain in Cape Town a couple of years ago.

And she cannot contain her excitement.

“I can’t wait,” she said.

“It’s a feeling that you can do anything. Everything is achieveable if you put your mind to it.”

Mrs Krok and her friends and family will travel 50km over three days and will ascend more than 2000 metres.

MS Positive – which will focus on supporting individuals and families in North London – aims to be fully functioning by January 2018.
