A MAN from Golders Green has been charged with raping a boy in a synagogue toilet.
Father-of-two Moshe Reichman, 23, is accused of performing an indecent act on the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, before raping him.
The offences are alleged to have taken place four years ago when the boy, who is Jewish, was 11 or 12.
He complained to police in February this year and Mr Reichman was arrested on March 3. He was granted bail at Snaresbrook Crown Court earlier this month where he had to have proceedings translated into Yiddish. His bail conditions mean he has to remain at an address in Stamford Hill unless he is accompanied by one of six chaperones who are rabbis from the Charedi community.
A trial date has been set for January 26, 2009.
