A SCHOOLGIRL was sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Hampstead on Monday.
The 12-year-old girl was approached by a man on a bicycle in Redington Road around 5pm. He spoke to the girl before touching her inappropriately.
Police have commended the victim for coming forward and appealed for information to catch her attacker.
He is white, aged 35 to 40, between 5ft7ins and 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing a white vest top and three-quarter length combat trousers. He had short spikey grey hair and distinctive blue eyes.
Detective Sergeant Amanda Whorwood from Camden Police said: "An incident such as this is extremely rare. I am appealing for anyone who may be able to identify the suspect to come forward."
