General election candidates will be in hot debate again during a hustings focused on the social care crisis next week.

So far five parliamentary candidates for the Hornsey and Wood Green constituency have said they will attend Thursday’s public meeting, but the Conservative Party’s Emma Lane has yet to confirm.

Organiser Sue Hessle said: “It will be very interesting to hear what they have to say not just about the extent of the social care crisis, but also who and how it’s going to be paid for.

“Social care is at the centre of the debate with people realising it has been very overlooked,” she added.

Hoping for a full house, Sue said: “We’re very much hoping the Tory candidate will come too.”

Catherine West (Labour), Dawn Barnes (Lib Dems), Sam Hall (Green) Nimco Ali (Women’s Equality) and Helen Spiby-Vann (Christian Alliance) will be at Abide Church Hall, 145 Park Road from 10.30am until noon.
