A prestigious grammar school has ranked in the top ten schools in the country for its 2014 GCSE results.
Henrietta Barnett School, in Central Square, Hampstead Garden Suburb, came eighth in England after 100 per cent of pupils last year achieved five or more “good” GCSEs including English and mathematics - the government standard.
It is the only school in the area to be classed among the top 100 schools in the country, according to official data from the Department for Education (DfE) released today.
Results from several of the area’s top independent schools, including Highgate School in Highgate and University College School in Hampstead, have not been released by the DfE.
It has affected their rankings among the best schools in England, with no Camden or Haringey schools included in the top 100 for GCSE results.
This year, all-girls Catholic La Sainte Union School in Dartmouth Park topped the league table for Camden’s state schools with 81 per cent of pupils achieving at least five Cs including English and mathematics in their GCSEs.
