Early analysis suggests that Mike Freer, Conservative candidate and pre-election favourite to win, will claim at least 20,000 votes.
The official result is yet to be announced, but Mr freer is now expected to take back Margaret Thatcher's old seat with a majority of around 4,000 votes.
