Free wifi will be available at West Hampstead, St Pancras International and Finsbury Park stations this summer as part of a £2million investment in services.
First Capital Connect (FCC) will introduce the service at 17 stations over the next six months.
John Saynor, of West Hampstead Amenity and Transport Group, said: “It’s a jolly good thing and will help people keep abreast of train delays.”
He said the push to improve services might be motivated by FCC’s franchise coming up for re-negotiation in September, but added “if it’s for the benefit of customers, then everyone’s happy”.
FCC managing director David Statham said: “Free wifi at our key stations turns downtime into productive time.”
