Terry Bright got the scoop on his mates on Friday when he picked up some guilt-free and cost-free ice cream.
A Fairtrade ice cream van spent the day parked up outside The Co-op’s store in the Harrow Road to hand out the gratis goodies as part of the Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations, which runs to the end of the week.
Fairtrade helps producers in developing countries by guaranteeing fair prices and providing an additional social contribution to fund vital community projects.
Rona Joiner, The Co-op’s membership officer for north London, said: “While we can’t promise that it’ll always be good for you waistline, we can say that it’ll be good for your karma, as you’ll be helping people thousands of miles away to empower themselves and their families.”
