Popular Mr Dobson, who has held the seat for 31 years, had 25,198 votes.
His nearest rival was Lib Dem Jo Shaw with 15,256 votes while Conservative George Lee received 11,134 votes.The Green Party's Natalie Bennett won 1,480 votes; Robert Carlyle of the BNP had 779 votes, independent John Chapman received 96 votes; English Democrat Mikel Susperregi had 75 votes and independent Ian Meek won 44.
