Four injured in Kings Cross train crash

Four passengers were taken to hospital after a train crashed into a buffer at King’s Cross station today.

The train was slowing as it hit the buffer at the station just before 12.30pm.

British Transport Police said that they were working to ‘establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.’

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokeswoman said: “Our officers were called to Kings Cross station on Thursday, 17 September following a

report that a train had hit the buffers at platform 11.

“The incident was reported to BTP at 12.18pm and involved the 10.55am Cambridge to Kings Cross service, which was travelling into the

station at a slow speed.

“London Ambulance Service Medics also attended and four passengers have been taken to hospital where they will be treated for minor injuries.

One passenger, Matthew Blakemore, tweeted: “In a train crash today at kingscross at 12.20 was in the front carriage. Huge bang and everyone thrown around”
