A community choir led by a Baptist minister and a former child star raised money for Iraqi refugees at its latest concert.
The Heath Street Choir was set up two years ago by classical singer Emily Gray, a past winner of BBC Choir Girl of the Year, and Heath Street Baptist Church minister Ewan King.
The 20-strong group staged its “most ambitious” concert yet in aid of the UNHCR Iraq Emergency Appeal, at the church in Heath Street, Hampstead. The concert, Songs of Spanish Exile, featured music by singer-songwriter Clara Sanabras.
Rev Ewan King said: “We like to leap into the unknown and tackle some beautiful music.”
The choir accepts members of all ages and levels of ability. Contact ewan_king@me.com for more information.
