Former Camden School for Girls pupil given MBE for services to theatre

A former Camden School for Girls pupil has been awarded an MBE in recognition of her career as a theatre producer.
Judith Dimant, who lives in Tufnell Park, has been a producer at world-famous British theatre company Complicite since 1993, working closely with founder and artistic director Simon McBurney.
She has been recognised for services to theatre, having produced shows which have toured the world.
Ms Dimant said: “I’ve had an extraordinary 21 years working with Complicite, creating amazing theatre. I’m honoured to be awarded an MBE and am thrilled to accept it - particularly for all the committed people who have worked so hard alongside me over the years, making the most challenging vision become reality.”
The producer’s credits include The Master and Margarita, Shun-kin, A Disappearing Number, The Elephant Vanishes, Mnemonic, The Noise of Time, The Chairs and The Three Lives of Lucie Cabrol.

She was responsible for securing Complicite’s first productions in New York, both on and off Broadway.
Ms Dimant has previously worked as a press officer at the Royal Court Theatre, with Glynis Henderson Productions and at the Pleasance Theatre in Edinburgh.
