Firefighters had to cut the roof off a wrecked BMW to rescue an injured driver after a crash near Hampstead Heath yesterday.

The 61-year-old woman’s BMW collided with another car in Hampstead Lane, near the junction with Courtenay Avenue, shortly after 3pm.

A team of firefighters broke open the roof to release the woman before she was rushed to hospital by ambulance with a broken arm and concussion.

Police made no arrests.
