MORE than 100 firefighters rushed to UCLH hospital in Euston this morning to tackle a blaze.
The fire ravaged the basement of the hospital from 2am and more than 20 fire engines needed to dowse the flames.
An automatic fire alarm raised the alert in an underground tunnel connecting the Rosenheim Building and the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson neonatal unit, between Grafton Way and Huntley Street.
No-one was hurt in the fire, which is now being investigated.
A spokesman for the hospital said: "As a precaution we are not currently admitting patients to the maternity ward and the A&E unit has been closed to blue light Ambulances, however walk-in patients will be seen to.
