Transport chiefs have agreed to carry out repairs on train lines in West Hampstead following fears the area will suffer excessive noise once the weekend night Tube starts.
Andrew Dismore, London Assembly member for Barnet and Camden, met with senior rail managers from Transport for London (TfL) after hearing of residents’ concerns.
He said: “TfL have now agreed to put mitigation measures in place before September 12 [when the night Tube starts] with some immediate track maintenance which they think will significantly improve the noise problem. At West Hampstead, they have promised to replace 90m of worn rails, repair support pads between the rails and sleepers, and stabilise sleepers on the northbound Jubilee line.”
