With the UK's largest community arts festival kicking off today, here are some key events - among many more to stumble upon

Crouch End’s famous Zombie Walk

Dress up in rags and ghastly face paint. Gather at The Maynard pub on Park Road, with children more than welcome, before heading off to the Town Hall for the open air showing of Grease. June 11, from 6.30pm

Face-painted revellers can watch Grease and sing along at the open-air feature film on the big screen outside the Town Hall, after the Zombie walk. June 11, from 8.30pm

Poets in a Phonebox

The festival welcomes back local poet Alan Wolfson and his friends! Find the phone box by the Town Hall Green.

Organisers invite you to knock on the door and the poets will read you a poem. June 11, from 12pm

Community Futures and Utopia: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

There will be an exhibition of interior architecture schemes for the use and future use of Hornsey Town Hall by

University’s Interior Architecture students and MA Interior Design students at the Town Hall. June 10-19, various times

Arts and crafts and food markets

You’ll find jewellery, leather bags, cards, clothes, followed by tasty produce from local traders at Hornsey Town Hall. Arts June 11 and food June 12.

Accumul8 “Old, New and a Future” exhibition

A showcase of photographs by young homeless people living at the YMCA Hostel in Crouch End. The group visited the BBC studios, the Victorian Theatre, bowling alley and basement spaces that were used as a refugee and enemy internee camp during the First World War. Exhibition at Burgers @N8. June 7-19, 12pm-6pm

Zoom Rockman exhibits his artwork

There will be a showcase of original artwork by 15 year old comic creator, Zoom Rockman, including his “Skanky Pigeon” strips for The Beano at The Queens. June 10-19, 12-11pm

Stand-up comedy session

Everyone is welcome to take part in a stand-up comedy session – look out for Crouch End pubs taking part. June 10-19th

La Clave Festival - the best of Latin culture

A Latino festival within the festival with music, dance, film, art, theatre and sport. La Clave organiser Amaranta Wright recommends taking part in an art installation with Mexican artist and partying with Colombian DJ Fernando KBSon. There will be a Catalan human tower, performed by Castellers of London. Taking place around Crouch End.

June 18, 10am until late

Crouch End Comic Art Festival

This creative event will host the best and brightest cartoonists and independent publishers currently active in the UK comic scene. There will be over 25 exhibitors selling a variety of comics, graphic novels and prints at Earl Haig Hall. June 18, 11am-5pm
